A Poem on Wonder

Wonder is like a jar of air

That we fill with pebbles

One at a time

 

There is no wonder

If we don't look for small stones 

On the muddy, paved, and golden ground

 

There is no wonder

If we do not open our hands to cold hard things

And warm them up

 

I wrote this on January 25, 2015 in an email response to my father. He is a true-poet.
