Abe and Isaac 1 year video

Megan and Nate Kantor (Cedar and Pines) started this photo shoot with a breathing exercise. I think they always do that; but it's just one of the many reasons this was a special time in the mountains. Abe and  Isaac hired me to come shoot some documentary style video content for their 1 year anniversary; my favorite type of work. This is the mini-montage from their photo shoot with Megan and Nate. Abe and Isaac read each other letters around the fire towards the end. Isaac later recorded the audio from his and sent it my way so I could use it in the video. Check out the BTS shots from the day below (shot by Megan and Nate).

Victor Athletics + Being Around Artists

Chris and Abby Sutton are my wife's friends from college (and now my friends too). They are artists and risk-takers who started Noble Denim and later created Victor Athletics. They're a dynamic duo; the kind of people paying attention to their work and their lives. I always get new bursts of energy, focus, and perspective after being with them.

I've filmed in factories across Middle America with them, modeled in campaigns, and shot skeet in West Tennessee with them. I look up to them as entrepreneurs + visionaries + people.

If you're ever in Cincinnati, visit their store-front and buy some American made goods for your friends and family.

Looking Back on Some Love

A year ago I had the honor of filming everyday moments of Abe and Isaac before they got hitched. They wanted to have a video that played at the reception for their 400 guests (it was a legit-love-party type-of-wedding)! It is still one of the favorite projects I have worked on because I really got to lean on my documentary style. They're also a really inspiring couple to be around because of their intention, focus on growth, and passion for what they're building together.

This blog post is a part of a thing I'm doing called #intentionaltbt. Just a thoughtful throwback to parts, pieces, and moments of my life. All are welcome to participate.

Also, here is the highlight video from their actual wedding day if you'd like to see that too!

Desert Inspired Album Kickstarter

Rebekah Pahl (mi esposa) is in the midst of a Kickstarter campaign to record her first studio EP. She directed the feels for the Kickstarter video and I helped bring her vision to life. If you have 3 minutes to spare, give it a view and consider pitching in a few bucks to help her make some art!

#riddlesandrocketships

My friend Sammy is starting to DJ around town. I went to his first gig and had the honor of capturing a small fraction of his dynamic presence. Here’s 15 seconds of the magic:

Everyday life / Nostalgia / Looking back

I am editing a few videos for Team World Vision right now and have had to review footage from my trip w/ them to Kenya in April, 2014.

In some ways, I am a raw-video hoarder. For the past 8 years or so I've filmed many-many moments with no end product in mind. I could spend hours going through old photos, videos, and mementos. It all means something. It all happened. It's all connected.

Just thought I'd share one of those moments with you.

Hope you're finding meaning in those everyday mundane moments - knowing that they're worth something; worth everything.

"Tell My Daughters"

This summer I had the privilege of partnering with Abby Goodrich and Kaio Productions to make the launch video for Tell My Daughters. The weekend we filmed in Atlanta I was often the only guy on set - it was a humbling, inspiring, and rewarding experience. I tried to get out of the way as much as possible and let the powerful lives these women lead do the talking.

It's a lot of work to change how we talk about things... to reshape, re-frame, and restructure a societies perception. Whether or not you or someone you love has been a victim of sexual assault, I hope you'll take a few minutes to read about the work Tell My Daughters is doing and dare to be a part of it.

Caleb Pahl | Brother

I made this video 5 years ago to celebrate my brother & brotherhood.

Caleb carries a lot of titles: Man | Son | Brother | Husband | Father | Leader

This video was made when he was transitioning from "brother" to "husband". An ode to the bond we had growing up and a celebration of his coming union with Claudia. I shot it on $25 point-and-shoot digital camera & I've never shared it before. Hope you enjoy!

ross, my brother, and i traveled to savannah georgia to see joshua and his fiancee corazon. along the way i documented random moments. 4 months later i used the clips to make a video for my brother's birthday. he is getting married in july. these adventures weigh more in sight of the transformation our brotherhood will undergo. love you caleb. looking for the circle you will start. the song used is "Day 1" by explosions in the sky
